WOMEN AND CHILDREN’S HEALTH

WOMEN AND CHILDREN HEALTH SUPPORT PROVIDED BY AFRICA COMMUNITY IMPACT ORGANIZATION IN DRC

Women’s and children’s health is a top priority for Africa Community Impact Organization in order to build healthy communities. Women’s well-being is critical for the success of those around them because they are the foundation of both families and communities. In most communities, protecting that well-being is a central challenge of women’s and children’s healthcare.

Africa Community Impact Organization collaborates with communities and local health authorities to improve the health of expectant women by providing safe motherhood services such as antenatal care, skilled birth attendant delivery, quality care for obstetric and newborn emergencies, post-natal care, and family planning that emphasizes healthy pregnancy timing and spacing.

Furthermore, Africa Community Impact Organization helps to improve health outcomes and reduce common childhood illnesses and deaths through programs such as communicable disease vaccinations, growth monitoring, early childhood development interventions, and community-based case management of common childhood illnesses. Because young boys and girls in their adolescence have special health-related needs, many of our programs are designed to include them.

Women, adolescent girls, and young children are more vulnerable to abuse, rape, or sexual exploitation during times of crisis, when traditional social codes protecting women are easily broken down. We provide culturally appropriate services for gender-based violence and work to reduce gender-based violence. We also offer medical treatment to rape survivors.
